Today we begin our examination of Ezra with Chapter 1.
God follows through on his promises to his people given in Jeremiah, despite Israel's sin that led to the exile, and despite the power of foreign kings.
This teaches us that God's promises always stand, and that we can thus trust in his present promises to us.
